Mercer Cheese - Nettle Gouda
It’s double Gouda day you lucky cheese lovers! From the experimental to the traditional, it’s time to compare and contrast. The second gouda in this month’s box is a 1 year old Nettle Gouda, produced by 67 year old cheese maker Albert Alferink every spring in the Waikato. He uses stinging nettle to create a salty, traditional Dutch flavour. It’s delicious and we’ve heard this hard cheese goes well with bacon. Let us know if you try that combo out.
