Cwmglyn Farmhouse Cheese

Biddy Fraser-Davies, champion cheese-maker, entrepreneur and one of the instigators of the Eketahuna Cheese Festival, was gifted her first cow at the age of 60. She taught herself to hand milk and discovered a passion for cheese making. Her hand made cheddars, each made from the milk of a single cow (she had 6) won numerous awards including “Super Gold” at the 2014 World Cheese Awards - from field of 2,700 cheeses from 33 different countries!

Sadly Biddy passed away in July and Cwmglyn won’t be producing any more cheddar. We were lucky enough to get the last wheel of cheddar to share with you - as a chance to celebrate her achievements and remember this incredible cheese maker. You’ll be receiving just a tiny taste of this cheese, so savour every morsel.

Each handmade cheese was produced from the milk of a single cow, bringing out the subtle flavours and individual style. This cheddar has a crumbly texture and a natural edible rind, that’s aged in it’s own clarified butter.
